Project Progression

FIRST APP : DOLAN YO - REJECTED

8 April 2018

I have an initial idea of what mobile application that i want to make. Here is the detail of my mobile application :

Type of application :

e-commerce for gamer
Target audience :
people who like play game and need game item also the seller have an online shop to sell the game item on Indonesia
Description :
This e-commerce is gather seller who has game item an buyer who needs the game item. Basically is like Lazada, Shopee, and etc. This e-commerce app serve items like usual but the items is game items such as Steam Wallet, Playstation Network Giftcard, Google Giftcard, Itunes giftcard, Counter Strike items game, DOTA2 items game, Mobile Legend diamond and etc. Then, for the payment is like usual payment such as bank account but is safe payment method

The reason i want to make this kind of app because i am gamer, and there is a website called itemku.com and i want make app for them (of course student purpose only). This website doesnt have mobile application like Lazada and Shopee which they have website and application. I am also the seller who selling game items on this website and also the i am a buyer in this website for 2 years. I want to make this app for e-commerce / marketplace for gaming because is handy (always on a phone), quickly push notification if a seller already sent the item or there is a buyer who buy your items, and safe payment.

Figure 1. homepage of itemku.com

What is safe payment?

Safe payment is when you as a buyer want to buy an item, you should pay first than you get the item. The important thing of safe payment is when a buyer already pay / transfer the money, that money will not go directly to seller, but it will be hold by the e-commerce teams (e.g shopee teams if the e-commerce is Shopee) until the buyer recieve the item. The payment method can be deducted balance of phone operator, pay to Alfamart/ Indomaret (kind of Seven Eleven in Indonesia) for those who does not have bank account  and also bank account

Figure 2. Payment mapping of  Shopee
Why this app needs to be exist in Indonesia?
Because in Indonesia, only 36% percentage of people who have bank account on 2017(according to Okezone Economy) while there is 43.7 million gamers in Indonesia which is mean it is not balance between bank user and how many gamer in Indonesia. Also, according to newzoo webisite, there is 21% of male non legal age (10-20 years old) and 15% of female non legal age (10-20 years old) as Indonesian gamers on 2017. Fyi, non legal age means the age who can not have bank account until 17 years old. This result percentage show that a lot of Indonesian gamers does not have bank account / credit card but they always shopping for games item. Thats is the strong reason why i want to make this app. Provide game marketplace app with easy convinient payment (such as deducted balance phone, pay on minimarket like Seven Eleven, and bank account)

7 May 2018

When mr Shamsul already give the permission to develop my idea, i started with mind mapping to get the idea and what should looks like be.

Figure 4. Mind mapping of the apps

Figure 5. Mind mapping of navigation

After i done the mind mapping, i made the flowchart of the apps to understanding the flow first before go to the mind mapping. In other words, let mr Shamsul approve my flow chart first then i go to wire frame

Figure 6. Flowchart of the apps.
For the reference, here is my reference

Figure 7. Moodboard of the application mobile
From this moodboard, what comes up in my mind is i am going use flat design approach and spotify style(gradient color) approach for colors and design. Because on my experience, most of e-commerce provide app with cluttered of the menu and design. So when buyer want buy something, they decide to not buy again because they confuse. Thats why i come up with simple and flat design. For the dominant color, i decide black, red, and white since it represent as gamer.

Feedback

Week 7

Mr Shamsul didnt get what i mean for the first time for the goal of my mobile app that I am going to make. After he understood, he give me suggestion about payment method with QR code because most of people like easy way to get. Furthermore, he asked me to narrow down the product that will sell (e-voucher only) in the app, because for beginner it is hard to make it / complicated. He approved my mobile apps proposal and he asked me to make the flowchart, color scheme, and wireframe of the apps. Importantly, flowchart first.

Week 8
Mr.  Razif suggested me to make a SWOT analysis because my apps are same with the existing application such as Lazada, Shoppe and similar app that exist. Because, according to Mr. Razif, if I have company, I need to drag/attract people to enroll/sign up my app by using my unique / value from my apps.

Week 9
Same feedback that Mr Razif suggested me in the week 8. He suggested to make SWOT Analysis and also to decide what is the uniqueness of my app.

Week 10
On this week, I decided to change my app from zero (concept, goal of the app, etc). Mr. Shamsul said to me that the research is very comprehensive, there is a comparison between one app and the other apps to get the difference. Therefore, i can proceed to make the design and prototype.

Week 11
Mr. Shamsul gave feedback my design is okay, but i should make the standart size of the font. Because i dont have consistent size font. Furthermore, i should make a button for the "Login as Tutor" button since the apperance is not look like a button. Overall, the design is good and also the color is minimalistic.

Week 12
- I could not meeting or consultation with Mr. Shamsul-

Week 13
- I could not meeting or consultation with Mr. Shamsul-

Week 14
The design that i make is good and close to the prototype, and also i can operate with my phone by using Marvell App. However, Mr. Shamsul suggested me to remove the "Login As Tutor" button and also i should change a bit on the slanting part.
